Zoom to fit browser width

I find using pressreader on my windows 10 tablet in a browser as there appears to be an assumption that everyone on a browser is using a desktop with a large screen.  Even with a 10" tablet, I have the following problems:

  1. I prefer to read my tablet in portrait mode in non text mode so it actually looks like the paper.  However, even though I am in portrait mode, there is no way I can see to displaying one page at a time.  As a result, the pages is displayed with 2 pages side by side even though the zoom would be absolutely fine and the text legible if the page zoomed to fit the width of the browser.
  2. tapping the article makes the text so large it is inconvenient to read so you end up having to mess around manually zooming in.  It is so sensitive that zoom out too much and you are back where you started with minimal zoom!
  3. The problem with text read is that some text (at the end of pages/paragraphs) are in the wrong order
  4. Even if you manage to get the zoom right, if you have to scroll left (as you are not zooming to the browser window width) the left panel keeps showing making especially annoying as you now lose where you were reading.

I hope I have missed something and there is a way of avoiding these issues.  If so, I would be much obliged if someone would guide me.

Thanks very much in advance.

Hello Ashok,

It is unclear if you are reading online on the Win tablet, or if you are using PressReader application? If you could contact us directly with more details, it would be great www.PressReader.com/Care

On a touch screen devices, you can use pinch to zoom in and out until you get to a comfortable size.As for the order of articles in text format, we would like a few examples to review, if you could include that in the email that you will send us directly.

As you have noticed, zoom does not carry over to the next page unfortunately. We take your comments seriously and will be happy to implement them in future releases.

Cheers,

Hello,

Thank you for your prompt response.

My apologies I am using my browser as I'd rather not load apps if I can use them on a browser since I am online most of the time.

In some other sites I use for magazines, it is so convenient that you can size the browser and if it is in portrait one page is displayed and if it is in landscape two pages are displayed and of course the zoom carries forward.  This simulates the general magazine/newspaper reading experience.  On pressreader, there appear to be only 2 zoom levels (by double tapping) and neither is good enough for the reasons outlined.  Pinch to zoom does work but if you accidentally tap, it resets the zoom!

I will contact you directly but was hoping I had missed something.

Thanks again
