Unable to access Press Reader using my library card logon

I linked my library card to my logon and can successfully logon to Press Reader using my library card number and PIN.  Once I do that and see my selected periodicals, however, when I select one of the periodicals, Press Reader asks me for the library card number and PIN again and then refuses to accept it, cycling again and asking for the library card nuimber and PIn in an infinite loop.  If I cancel, it then asks me to pay.  How do I get Press Reader to accept my library card number and PIN?  Is this a cookies or caching issue?

I'm having the same issue, getting prompted for payment (when I'm trying to use Melbourne City Libraries card in Australia) and it won't move to the next stage after accepting my pin.  If I try to switch to my other local library (Yarra City Libraries, Australia) it won't even let me login at all using my library card and pin saying library not available.

Hi Simon,

We can confirm that PressReader is up and running for Melbourne Libraries, we’ve tested using a library card and the connection worked fine.

To connect with your library card please go to PressReader website or app – Sign in – Library Card – select Melbourne Library Service – enter your barcode and pin. After connecting you should be able to see the welcome message and green teacup on the top left.

If your credentials doesn’t work, please contact the library.

Kind regards,

Hello, I only joined today and my details and password seem to have been accepted but the icon for Library Card didn't appear along with the Facebook and Google ones.  I haven't been able to set up the account and I don't think I can use PressReader as a result.  Certainly nothing comes of any of the searches I've attempted.

Hi. I’m having the same issue with the USA Pleasanton Library. I used to connect with no problem. Now PressReader says that login is incorrect. I tried the exact same account and password directly at the library website 3 times. Logs in with no issues. At PressReader, fails every time. Any recommendations?

Hello Marcos,

It appears that you are logging in to the library website from home. In that case, have you checked with the library regarding your credentials/PIN? If the problem persists, you could share your PIN with us to test it for you by reaching out to us at care_at_pressreader.com. Thanks.

Hi Tony,

Your PressReader account does not seem to have been linked to the library. We suggest logging back in to the library again, and in case you have any trouble with your credentials, the library can assist you further. If you require further assistance, please reach out to us directly with more details, such as any error messages, etc. at care_at_pressreader.com

Hi I'm having a similar issue. I've downloaded the PressReader app onto my iPad, created a PressReader account and when I try and connect to my library via (Libraries and Groups), the pop up window appears and it asks me to login into my library - I do that but then it stays within the popup window and the PressReader app is opened in the background without linking my library sign-in to the PressReader app. I'm using "The City of Cape Town Library & Information Services".

Please advise?

Thanks,

M
